holy-walk-1This Advent season, keep Christ at the center of Christmas by visiting the Bremen Holy Walk next weekend.

holy-walk-3Much more than a live nativity scene, this hour-long outdoor walk over farmland helps participants better understand and experience Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Witness an angel speaking to the shepherds, proclaiming the birth of a Savior. Encounter gruff Roman soldiers on your way to be counted in the first census, ordered by Caesar Augustus. Knock on the door to the Bethlehem Inn, where you will be told there is no room, not even for a pregnant Mary. Walk through the Bethlehem village, alive with shopkeepers buzzing with the good news of Christ’s birth. Experience a feeling of true peace and wonder as you approach the stable, where Joseph and Mary cradle the newborn King.

Bremen Holy walkThis is the 35th year for this free event. Shuttle buses leave from Bremen High School at 511 West Grant Street in Bremen, every 15 minutes. Doors open at 5 p.m. Friday, December 18th and at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19th.
