Bremen Police Chief Matt Hassel released this department’s activity report for the week of May 1st through the 7th.
Bremen officers issued a total of 63 traffic warnings and 23 traffic citations. They also investigated a minor personal injury crash at 419 West Plymouth Street on the first and a property damage accident in the parking lot of the Community Hospital. Other accident investigations included a personal injury crash at State Road 106 West and US 6 on May 4th and a personal injury accident at 331 High Road on the 5th.
Bremen Police arrested Robert Hall of South Bend for driving while suspended with a prior charge, Fahad Alturaifi of Fort Wayne for operator never licensed and Martin Celedon of Bremen for OWI endangering a person and OWI higher than .15% all on May 2nd. On May third Ashley Pruitt of Nappanee was arrested for driving while suspended with a prior charge and on the 6th Bremen officers arrested Troy Kennedy of Bremen on a warrant for failure to appear and Raymond Smith of South Bend for OWI on controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
The Bremen Police Department also responded to a tree fire on May 1st at 800 South Center Street, a field fire on the 2nd at 14398 Patterson Road and a ceiling fan fire on the 5th at Universal Bearings 431 North Birkey Street.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Every defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
