Matt Hassel, Chief of the Bremen Police Department released the activity report for March 27th through April 2nd.

Bremen officers issued a total of 42 traffic warnings and 12 traffic citations.  Officers responded to three crashes: on March 30th at the Church of the Brethren, and also a property damage crash on East Plymouth Street.  On April 1st they also responded to a property damage accident on Sherman Street.

Bremen_PoliceBremen Police made 6 arrests during the time frame of March 27th through April 2nd.  On the 27th Michael Taylor of Mishawaka was arrested for operating while intoxicated with a controlled substance and possession on marijuana.  On April30th Luis Gomez of Bremen was arrested for operator never licensed and operating without financial responsibility.  On the 31st Timothy Bradles of Rochester was arrested on a Kosciusko County and Larry Gabbard of Bremen was taken in for a warrant through Marshall County.  April 1st Kennette Berg of Walkerton was arrested for driving while suspended with a prior charge and on the 2nd Michael Dobbie of Bremen was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Bremen officers responded to 6 grass and field fires between March 27th and April 2nd.  The first one was on March 28th at 1184 3rd Road, a field fire at 9105 Hawthorn Road on the 30th, a grass fire at 7869 Plymouth Goshen Trail on the April 1st, also a field fire at 69750 Miami Highway, an assist to Bourbon for a field fire at 7363 Chestnut and a field fire on US 6 between Elm and Douglas.

Other fire calls were an personal injury accident on March 27th at US6 and 106 East, a carbon monoxide detector at 131 Joey Court on the 28th, tree and wires down at 508 East Plymouth Street on March 30th, and an assist to St. Joseph County for a house fire at 16364 Madison Road on April 2nd.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
