Monday evening March 9th at approximately 7:50 the Bremen Police Department received a report of a possible impaired driver in town. Bremen Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Miami Trail and Plymouth-Goshen Trail just west of Bremen. The vehicle was stopped by officers just south of Plymouth-Goshen Trail on Grape Road.
During the traffic stop officers discovered what they believed to be marijuana in the vehicle. 19 year old Ryan Zellmer of Bremen was taken into custody for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Zellmer was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $505 cash bond.
A complaint of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance was also filed against two Bremen juveniles in the vehicle.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
