Teen hits horseA Bremen teen is in serious condition following an accident involving a horse early Thursday morning.

Crews were called to C.R. 1350 N. near the intersection of C.R. 1025 W. in Kosciusko County just before 6 a.m.

The driver, 19-year-old Isaac Rosentreter, was taken to the hospital. Police say he was driving eastbound on C.R. 1350 N. when the horse came into the roadway. Officers say Rosentreter tried to stop, but couldn’t and hit the horse, which died on impact.

The horse belonged to James Bontrager of Nappanee and officers believe the animal must have pushed a watering trough to the side then wandered out of the fence.
