County Building_2Members of the Marshall County Council will meet Monday morning starting at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.  Along with their regular meeting the council is expected to adopt the special unit budgets, and make cuts to the 2016 budget requests.

In August the County Council spent an entire day reviewing the various county budgets.  It was determined with the estimated revenue projections that one million dollars of requests needed to be cut from the budget.  Between $650,000 and $680,000 of recommended cuts was identified during the August meeting.

The County Council will also make the determination of a salary increase for next year.  There was the suggestion of a percentage raise or a flat across the board basic increase of $500, $700 or something in that range dependent of the amount of deductions in the 2016 budget requests.

It’s anticipated that the County Council will spend all day taking care of business.  Their meeting is open to the public.
