County Building_2Members of the Marshall County Council will meet for their first meeting of the new year on Monday at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.

Agenda for the meeting includes reorganization, appointment to MACOG and liaison assignments.

Jerry Chaves, Executive Director of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation will present their strategic plan and Mary Jane Walsworth, head of the County Probation Department will discuss her budget line.

There are three request for employee replacement, Soil and Water, M.C. Clerk Deb VanDeMark and Sheriff Tom Chamberlin.

The council also has three transfer requests to consider at their first meeting of the year, for Probation, Sheriff and WIC.

There are a number of additional appropriation requests for consideration, $39,000 for EMA to purchase recording equipment, $30,000 in the Sheriff’s Jail CAGIT for a line item omission and $216,859 in Sheriff Certified Shares for a line item omission.  Other additional requests include $6,100 for the Prosecutor’s Ret-Trial Diversion for funding a deputy prosecutor and $12,437 for funding a full time clerk.  The prosecutor is also seeking $22,000 from the 4-D for funding the deputy prosecutor and $12,437 for funding the full-time clerk.  The final request comes from Superior Court II with a request to appropriate $4,452 for the department head and $1,567 to fund wages substance abuse.

County Auditor Julie Fox will present the December meeting minutes and a 2015 salary amendment for the Court Services Director and Substance Abuse Counselor and for Lake Patrol.

The County Council is also expected to make an appointment to the Bourbon Public Library.

The meeting is open to the public and begins at 9 a.m.
