Individuals interested in running for local office are reminded that the first day to file for candidacy is Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Filing remains open until noon, Friday, February 5, 2016.
County-wide offices up for election include: Treasurer, Coroner, Surveyor, County Commissioner District 2, County Commissioner District 3 and three at-large County Council seats. Elections will also be held for Republican Precinct Committee people. Delegates to the state convention for both Republican and Democratic parties will also be elected.
Interested individuals may obtain candidate forms at the Marshall County Clerk’s office, 211 West Madison Street in Plymouth from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or from the Indiana Election Division website: www.in.gov/sos/elections.
