Boy Scout Cameron Riddle of Troop 257 completed his Eagle Scout project last Friday with a successful “Need for Speed Race” at Plymouth’s Centennial Park.
Nearly 100 runners and walkers participated in the race at Centennial Park. Participants were encouraged and cheered on by Plymouth’s very own Olympian, Morgan Uceny. Morgan graciously signed autographs took pictures with, handed out metals, and even ran a half mile with the runners.
Along with organizing the race, Cameron, with the help of local scouts, place distance markers along the Greenway Trail. A communication board was also placed on the Hoosier Old Wheels Pavilion to allow local events to be showcased.
Cameron would like to recognize and thank Lowe’s for the donation of supplies, Grand Rental for the use of tools, Plymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite and the Plymouth Park Board for allowing the project to take place, Morgan Uceny for supporting the race, Marshall County Running Club for supporting the race and supplying the medals and communication board, and Boys Scout Troop 257 for their volunteering to make the project happen.
