MYRTLE BEACH – Ancilla’s Chargers ended a week in South Carolina taking a pair of tough losses falling to NJCAA Division I Monroe College by a 4-1 final late Friday night and then dropping an early Saturday morning game to Rochester Community College by a 10-7 score.

Charger pitchers scattered seven hits in the game and starter Jason Ferguson (Warsaw High School) went four innings and gave up just one earned run, striking out three but took the loss. Clayton Adamson (Tippecanoe Valley High School) pitched two innings of scoreless relief.

The Chargers had five hits of their own but couldn’t bunch enough together to challenge after the the three run Monroe fifth inning.

Ancilla fell behind Rochester early giving up a three run first, but rebounded to make a late run that ended with runners on in the seventh. Charger starter Brandon Kosloski (Elkhart Memorial High School) took the loss with three innings work in his first outing of the season.

The Chargers had multiple hit games from four players – Blake Bullock (Muncie Central High School), Jacob Fell (Seeger High School), and Corey Holderread (Washington Twp. High School) had two hits each. Caleb Heckaman (Warsaw High School) had a pair of hits with three RBI’s.

Ancilla (2-6) is scheduled to play at Purdue-Calumet on Thursday and open their MCCAA season at home on Saturday with a doubleheader with Macomb Community College starting at 1 p.m at Charger Field.
