DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla men’s basketball team kicked off their season with a win at home against Mid-Michigan Community College Friday night, 84-69.

Charger freshman point guard, Tre’Shon Heard led Ancilla in scoring and assists for the night with 15 points and six assists. Donte Galdney and Everett Norman contributed 14 and 11 points respectively, and Travon Brackett pulled down 12 rebounds for the Chargers.

“I was very proud of the way our guys played tonight. Shooting 59% for the game while holding Mid-Michigan to 34% was a big stat in the game,” said Ancilla head coach Aaron Butcher. “We got solid contributions from several different people, but I thought the combined stat line of our two freshman point guards, Tre’Shon Heard and Anderson McCoy (21 points, eight assists, and one turnover) was key in getting our offense going. We are looking forward to a solid week of practice before traveling to Chicago this weekend.”

The Chargers will be on the road this Friday at Harry S. Truman College for an 8:00p.m. tipoff. They will play again Saturday at Elgin Community College. Game time is set for 2:00pm.
