JACKSON, MI – Ancilla’s Chargers opened a six game weekend with a sweep on the road over Jackson Community College taking a 13-3 five inning win in game one and coming back for an 8-2 nightcap victory over the host Jets.

The Chargers pounded out 12 hits in game one including a first pitch triple off the center field wall by Ancilla center fielder Shay Hepler (Warsaw High School) that set the tone early. Alex Nelson (Ben Davis High School), Fancis Silfa (LaPorte High School), and Clayton Adamson (Tippecanoe Valley High School) each had a pair of hits including doubles. Nelson, Silfa, Jason Ferguson (Warsaw High School) and Luke Gaboury (Mishawaka Marian High School) each had a pair of RBI’s in game one.

Gaboury also took the win as the game one starting pitcher going the distance for his second victory of the year.

Nelson remained red hot in game two collecting another double and three more RBI’s as part of his five hit day as Dalton Clark (Rockville High School) went the distance on the mound for his second win of the season. Clark struck out five, walked just one and gave up one earned run.

Ferguson also had two more hits in the 10 hit Ancilla attack.

The Chargers (5-13) will split their squad on Sunday with a doubleheader against Indiana Tech at Bill Nixon Field in Plymouth and an MCCAA makeup doubleheader at St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Michigan.
