BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI – The Charger men’s basketball team took the road Thursday night to face off against Andrews University where they claimed a 58-47 victory and improved their record to 4-3.

 

The Chargers played strong in the first half, grabbing the lead early and taking the team into a 31-17 lead at halftime. Ancilla freshman, Dylan Phair from Franklin, IN led the Chargers in scoring with 14 points for the night. Freshman, Don’Tayon Young (9) and sophomore, Alex Henn (7) put up a combined 16 points and Young pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Ancilla head coach Aaron Butcher commented on his teams win, “I was proud of the way the guys executed tonight. Andrews is a very difficult team to play because of their style of play. We got some solid contributions off the bench and had guys make winning plays down the stretch.”

 

The team will be on the road Tuesday in Holland, MI as they take on Hope College JV. Game time is set for 7:30p.m. The Chargers will return home on Tuesday, December 1st versus St. Francis University JV. Tip-off is set for 7:00p.m.
