Jerry Chavez, Executive Director of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation gave the Marshall County Commissioners a “year-end review” during their meeting Monday.
The snap-shot showed that manufacturing continued to invest in our county. In 2013 their capital investment was $36.6 million while 2014 was at $50.5 million and this year will be $77 million.
Chavez also showed an increase in jobs in the county with 350 added in 2013, 585 in 2014 and that number is yet to be announced for this year. He also said there are currently 120 manufacturing positions open in the county.
The County Economic Development Director said he anticipates more tax abatement requests outside the various jurisdictions. Those requests will be coming before the commissions.
