Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon was on hand to open quotes for two new police cruisers.    The only quote came from Oliver Ford for two 2016 all-wheel drive SUV pursuit rated vehicles. The manufactures suggested retail price was $33,530 and Oliver Ford’s quote to the city was $28,813 each.  The chief will trade in three vehicles, a 1986 Ford Econoline Van for $300, a 2010 Crown Victoria at $4,000  and a 2011 Dodge Changer valued at $7,500 bringing the net cost total for the two vehicles to $45,826.

Chief Bacon noted, “This is well under what we budgeted for two vehicles.”  Since there was only one quote for the vehicles Bacon asked to move the purchase process along since it’s such a long process preparing the vehicles for the road once received.  Each one will need to be fit with police equipment and be lettered.  The Board of Public Works and Safety approved his request.
