Quotes were open for the roof replacement project on the secondary control building at the Waste Water Treatment Plant during Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety Meeting. Five local companies offered quotes on the project with the low quote coming from Bran Roofing of Lakeville with a base quote of $8,824 and unit price for sheeting replacement of $30 per sheet. The high quote was from A & M Home Services of Lakeville with a base quote of $15,050 and unit price of $49 for the sheeting replacement. Other quotes on the project were from Millwood Roofing & Construction of Millwood for a quote of $12,448 and unit price of $80 per sheet, Sims Roofing of Plymouth with a base quote of 11,480.50 and unit price of $55 per sheet. The final quote came from L. Nolt and Sons for $11,900 and unite price of $15.95. Quotes were taken under advisement for review by Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson with a recommendation to be made at their next meeting. Mayor Senter offered quotes for a flooring replacement project in this office area. Since late winter they have experienced a strong chemical smell and it’s been determined to be the carpet and adhesive breaking down. Quotes were opened from Huber’s Carpet at $2,199.08; Lowry’s Carpet Care $2,119.62 and The Floor Store and More at $2,669.40. Different flooring options were quoted so quotes will be taken under advisement and Mayor Senter will make a recommendation at the next meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety. The Board also approved soliciting quotes for a roofing project of the city building.
