WSOI_Commissioner Garner_1On Thursday in Carl Davis’ High School Economics class at PHS, students got to learn a lot about Marshall County operations and budgets.

WSOI_Commissioner Garner_3Marshall County Commissioner Kurt Garner visited the Weidner School Of Inquiry and spoke about his first hand experience working for taxpayers! Garner is one of three Commissioners who are elected to represent and make tough decisions for our county.

WSOI_Commissioner Garner_2Davis’ class is currently studying – “How do we satisfy unlimited wants with limited resources.”

WSOI_Commissioner Garner_4One of the topics Garner brought up was how implementing a countywide Wheel Tax could generate needed funds for roads repairs. He said without having enough money for all the repairs… some roads are being converted into gravel roads – a solvable solution and a good example of what happens when you have unlimited wants with limited resources.

The Commissioners meet on the first Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m., and the third Monday of the month at 9:45 a.m.
