County News_logoThe Marshall County Commissioner approved an addendum to the contract with Quality Correctional Care during their meeting Monday.

The Indiana General Assembly provided, in their last session, that county sheriff’s and executives will sign up inmates for Medicaid that have been in the county jail for more than 30 days and don’t have health insurance.

The state’s idea is that inmates will have medical bills paid by Medicaid instead of the county picking up the health expenses.

Completing a Medicaid application is not an easy process and Quality Correctional Care has offered to handle the application process for a fee to the county of $15 per application.
