Last month Matt Pitney, Communications Supervisor for the Sheriff’s Department presented a contract for upgrades to the E-911 services. Upgrades will allow the 911 Dispatch Center to access a caller’s location if they are using a cell phone.  The county attorney had some concerns with language in the agreement but when it was presented this month Century Link sis not revise any of the terms.

During Monday’s meeting Pitney said the current monthly charge is $5,589 while the new contract amount is $3,191 monthly for 24 months, a savings of $2,398.  The commissioners unanimously approved the new agreement.
