County News_logoThe Marshall County Commissioner approved another 3 year agreement with Maximus for professional and consulting services.

Kenneth Moeller from Maximus discussed the annual cost allocation plan for the county, which he has done for the last 22 years.  The purpose of Manimus is to recover the indirect cost associated with child support enforcement and Title IV-D.

Monthly the clerk and prosecutor submit their direct expenses; salaries, wages, specific supplies and they reimbursed on a monthly basis at 66%.  Annually they gather the indirect costs; maintenance of the office, fringe benefits, insurance and a portion of salary for the payroll clerk.  Those are submitted to the state on the county’s behalf for quarterly reimbursements.  There is a two-year lag on reimbursement from the state.

The average reimbursement over the last 5 years is nearly $56,000 and over the years they have recovered over $675,000 in federal reimbursements for Marshall County.
