FreedomPark_logoMonday evening the Plymouth Park Board conducted a special meeting to award the bid for the instillation of the news playground equipment for the new all-inclusive Freedom Park in Packard Woods.

Earlier this month two bids were opened for the project.  Recreation Insites from Fishers presented a base bid of $167,698.66 while Sinclair Recreation of Holland, MI presented a base bid of $284,700.

FreedomPark_phase1Park Superintendent Mike Hite recommended going with the low bid of Recreation Insites and hold off on the two options: fencing and the entry sign because there will only be $9,000 left in the fund after the initial construction.    Hite said they would work with the Freedom Park committee to complete the alternatives.

The superintendent said Langfeldt Excavating is scheduled to begin demo of the basketball court and prep the site for instillation on Wednesday.  He estimated the complete project to take 45 to 60 days.

The first phase will be completed in plenty of time for late spring and summer enjoyment.
