County News_logoJim Clevenger, Marshall County Attorney presented his report to the commissioners on July 20th.

He continues to work on the Dispatch Agreements for Plymouth, Argos, Culver and Bourbon. Currently they are working on a funding formula based on the percentages of calls for the city and towns in the county for centralized dispatching.  During the discussion it was estimated that Culver’s share could be as much as $29,000.  The county is hoping to get figures to the city and towns so they can work the costs into their 2016 budges.

Depositions for the Sheriff and some other jail personnel were to be conducted on Wednesday for the Stacy Merek lawsuit and the county’s insurance carrier has sent confirmation that the West lawsuit has been assigned to counsel for defense.  Clevenger has also filed the county’s defense position statement with the EEOC on the David Miller claim.

The County attorney has revised the memorandum of understanding with the city of Plymouth on the round-a-bout agreement moving the entrance sign from the center of the round-a-bout to the south west side of the intersection.    It was also discussed the removal of a large pine tree in the area will be the responsibility of the city.  Permission was granted to allow the city to move forward with construction once the MOU is signed and approval is given from Phend and Brown to work in their construction zone.
