Dispatchers_2This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and representatives from the Plymouth Fire Department surprised dispatchers at the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center in the jail Thursday evening.

With sweet treats in hand, about a half dozen fire fighters and EMT’s marched into the dispatch center with thanks to the dispatchers on duty and for those who weren’t on duty at the time.

The second full week in April is always National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.  Representatives from the Plymouth Fire Department proudly recognized the dedicated men and women who are ready answer a call to help citizens in need every day.

Dispatchers_3Art Jacobs from the Plymouth Fire Department said the county dispatchers are a critical part of public safety and are consistently instrumental in saving lives and have our backs when we have a call.

As the first person on the scene of every crime, fire, and medical emergency, the 9-1-1 dispatcher continues to be an invaluable resource to first responders in Marshall County.  The firefighters salute this team of professionals who are so committed to excellence.
