County News_logoThe Marshall County Drainage Board and County Commissioners will meet Monday morning beginning at 8:30 in the morning.

The Drainage Board meets at 8:30 in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.  Their agenda includes discussion of a DNR and Army Corp. permit for work on the Yellow River and the request of Sharon LaFollette for drainage work at 4B Road on the Lemert Powell drain.  The drainage board will also conduct a public hearing on the Meister Arm of the Bowser Tile at 8:45.  Also on the agenda is the NIPSCO transmission line project.

The Marshall County Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 9:30 in their second floor meeting room in the County Building.  Their agenda includes a report from the County Highway Department with Laurie Baker and Jason Peters.  Also on the agenda is Bruce Smith who wants to speak again about the destruction of Redwood Road in his area.

County employee Brenda Harper will seek approval to conduct the 2016 United Way campaign with all employees and County Recorder Marlene Mahler will present a contract for Fidlar Technologies.

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel is seeking a travel request and County Attorney Jim Clevenger is expected to present the new Buggy ordinance that will allow the County to require license plates on Amish buggies.  Also on the agenda is the auditor’s report, commissioner items and public comments which are always encouraged and welcomed.
