County News_logoTuesday morning the Marshall County Drainage Board awarded maintenance bids on three ditches.

Maintenance work on the Bourbon Arm of the Metheny Ditch includes debrushing and cleaning approximately 4690 feet with the debris burned and buried.   Koontz and King was awarded the project with the low bid of $9,949.

Langfeldt Excavating was awarded the bid for the Lehman Ditch starting just north of 1st Road and running south along the new US 31 to just before the railroad tracks.  The maintenance work includes debrushing and cleaning approximately 3330 feet of the ditch with the debris being burned and buried or piled in the right-of-way.

Maintenance work on the Stock-Heston Ditch from 1st Road to Tyler Road includes debrushing and cleaning approximately 5300 feet of the Stock Heston Ditch with the trees being cleared and brush being piled 20 feet from the top of the ditch bank along the wooded areas.    Kolesiak Excavating was awarded the project with the low bid of $6,489.00

The Marshall County Drainage Board also reorganized during their first meeting of the new year.  Commissioner Deb Griewank will serve a President and Commissioner Kevin Overmyer will be Vice. President.  Recording Secretary, Barb Neidlinger and attorney Jim Clevenger were retained.
