Crash_US6&Tamarack_dumptruckCounty Police Officer Jordan Rans responded to a two vehicle accident on US 6 at Tamarack Road Wednesday morning about 11:30.

The accident occurred when 87 year old Lucille Snyder of Plymouth made a U-turn on the north side of Tamarack Road in an attempt to head south on Tamarack.

Snyder failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming westbound GMC Dump Truck driven by 52 year old Lester Pratt of South Bend.   Pratt was unable to avoid the collision and struck Snyder’s 2003 Ford Taurus.

The dump truck rolled over onto the passenger side, blocking both east and west bound lanes on US 6.

Lucille Snyder was treated at the scene and release, Lester Pratt was transported to Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Walkerton Police Department, LaPaz and Polk Fire, Walkerton EMS, and Reichert’s and Knepp Towing.
