culver_public_library_late_teens_robert_waite_photoThroughout the country, Historic Preservation Month is observed each May. With that in mind, Culver-Union Township Public Library has invited Marshall County architectural expert Kurt Garner to help us celebrate our Centennial year. Kurt will give a presentation about the architecture of our Carnegie Library on Saturday, May 2 at 10:30 am.

Kurt West Garner is an architectural historian with degrees in business administration and architecture.  Kurt is the founder and president of Wythougan Valley Preservation, a county-wide non-profit in Marshall County.  He is also the co-founder and president of Indiana’s Historic Michigan Road Byway Association, and has served as a member of Indiana Landmark’s Northern Regional Council since 2000.  He is a former Plymouth city councilman, and current Marshall County Commissioner.

We invite you to attend and learn more about CUTPL’s very own contribution to Historic Preservation month. This free program is open to the public, and will be held in the Carnegie Room on the lower level of the library.
