A traffic stop Friday morning for a speeding violation landed a Knox man in the Marshall County Jail on multiple charges.
Just after 10 Friday morning Plymouth Police Officer John Weir initiated a traffic stop on a 1987 Porsche 924 after he clocked him traveling 90 mph in a 50 mph zone. The driver, 55 year old Michael Todd Dalton was driving with a suspended license for which he had a prior charge and also false plates on the vehicle and no insurance.
Weir’s K9 partner Jax walked around the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamines, paraphernalia and a syringe.
Michael Dalton was taken for a chemical test and also charged with OWI under a controlled substance. He was booked into the jail on a $4,505 cash bond.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
