Riverside_doghouse_salePLYMOUTH – Students at Riverside Intermediate School in Plymouth completed their project to help other dogs, and that dog house now has an owner.

The dog house – built by Riverside students as a mentoring project with teachers Tim Schmidt and Jeff Hunter – was auctioned off when complete to raise funds for the Marshall County Humane Society. That dog house has an owner who bid a total of $375 for the right. The bidder wishes to stay anonymous saying that all the credit they desired was the young men’s accomplishment.

“The interesting part is the bidder doesn’t even own a dog,” commented Hunter. “But knowing them I know they will find someone to share the joy of what this project was intended for.”

Nancy Cox, Director of the Marshall County  Humane Society was very happy to accept the donation, saying it will go to the general operating fund to help other animals at the shelter.

“This is a very generous gift and it will go to good use,” she said.
