image-4-300x225On Friday the Marshall County Election Board certified the Municipal Primary Election results in a meeting which was continued from May 4th.  There were no provisional votes or emergency ballots and the numbers stayed the same from election night.

The cost for election, $4,357.00 was prepared and ready to be sent to the town of Bremen and city of Plymouth but before they were mailed the Clerk receive an email from the association  which indicated that a portion of the annual maintenance fee of $9,500 from Microvote could be shared by the municipalities in their cost to conduct the election.

Prior to the primary election this year the Clerk sent an agreement to both municipalities and gave them an estimated cost.  The City of Plymouth’s estimate was $2,006.25 while Bremen’s was $1,450.  Actual cost without the maintenance fee additional was $2,552.85 for Plymouth and $1,213.92 for Bremen.

The Marshall County Election Board decided not to add the additional maintenance cost as this time with the primary billing but let the two communities know that after it is determined which communities will have general elections in November a new agreement will be sent.  Both Bremen and Plymouth will need to pay for both elections, the primary and general.

There were 746 voters between the two municipal primary elections with Plymouth have 76% of the voters and Bremen having 24%.  The actual cost of the election was divided by the number of voters and it averaged out to just a little over $6.00 per vote.
