W. Jay Abbott, Special Agent in Charge of the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced Wednesday that a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for an armed bank robbery.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on February 17, 2015, the Fifth Third Bank located at 6760 Broadway in Merrillville, Indiana, was robbed at gunpoint by one male. The suspect entered through the rear doors of the bank, armed with a black handgun. He ordered bank employees to the floor and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.
The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and is described as follows:
Race: Black
Sex: Male
Height: Approximately 6′
Weight: Approximately 170 pounds
Facial features: Clean shaven
Clothing: Black jacket with light grey shoulders and a hood, blue jeans and tan work/military style boots.
