Late Tuesday afternoon the sun began to shine just in time for the annual kick-off to the Bremen Firemen’s Festival, the parade.
Fire apparatus from more than a dozen fire departments from all around north central Indiana helped to lead the parade blaring their sirens and flashing their lights.
Thousands of people lined the streets of downtown Bremen all the way to Sunnyside Park.
Fire trucks, floats, bands, baton twirlers, antique cars, clowns and more entertained parade goers for more than an hour.
The carnival opened at 6 and following the parade, and young and old alike took time to ride some rides, eat some great food, visit for old friends and kick-off their 4th of July holiday.
The annual event is the major fundraiser for the Bremen Fire Department.
