FootGolfWhat is FootGolf?  FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf.  The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course.  The ball is kicked rather than hit with a club and the player with the fewest shots win.

With the rise of the popularity of FootGolf, the Plymouth Rock Golf Course saw it as a viable option to offer a new activity in the area and approached the PHS Boys Soccer Team with the opportunity to host a tournament.  After months of planning, the PHS Boys Soccer Team will be hosting a FootGolf Tournament on Saturday, July 11with hopes that it will turn into an annual event.

The FootGolf Tournament will be a family friendly event and all ages are encouraged to come out and play on July 11th!  Registration starts at 12:30 with a kick off time of 1:00.  Cost is $25 per player or $100 for a team of four which will include 9 holes of FootGolf and a cook out following the tournament.  Bruce’s Pulled Pork BBQ will be available to purchase and enjoy before the tournament along with Mooney’s Ice Cream.  There will also be a silent auction, face painting and other games for attendees to enjoy.  Even if you are not “golfing” everyone is invited to come out and take part in the other activities.

There is still time to register to participate in the tournament or to sponsor a hole.  Contact Gwen DeMont-Calvert at 574-276-7002 or email atdemontcalvert@embarqmail.com or Melissa Neidlinger at574-286-5622 or email at windyacres@embarqmail.com to obtain a registration form, hole sponsor information or with questions.

Proceeds from the FootGolf Tournament will go towards the PHS Boys Soccer Team to purchase team socks, shirts, banners, and to attend a summer exhibition at Indiana Wesleyan University July 25.
