FreedomPark_flood_1The rainy weather we have experienced this last week has caused the postponement of the Grand Opening ceremonies of Freedom Park.  The all-inclusive park was set to open on Wednesday evening with ceremonies in Plymouth’s Packard Woods.

Monday’s downpour of rain cause flooding across Marshall County and a portion of the new playground was underwater.  The water is gone but there’s lots of mud to contend with.

Phase one of Freedom Park will include the large play structure, a few other pieces of play equipment, plus a Zero-G Chair, which is a high-back swing that allows children who require additional support to swing alongside their peers.  The playground is not just for children and adults with disabilities but for everyone to play together.

At this time the Freedom Park Committee has not rescheduled to opening ceremonies.
