A traffic stop by Bourbon Police Officer Matt Geiger Tuesday morning resulted in the arrest of a Fort Wayne man.
About 1:30 Tuesday morning Officer Geiger stopped a Cadillac at US 30 and State Road 331 for speeding, 84 mph in a 60 mph zone. During the investigation it was suspected that the driver, Eli F. Vasquez of Fort Wayne had been drinking. After a field sobriety test Mr. Vasquez was given a certified test at the Sheriff’s Department, which he failed with a result of .16%. Officer Geiger also learned that Vasquez did not have a license to drive.
Vasquez was booked into the Marshall County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. His cash bond was set at $1,500.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Every defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
