The Plymouth girls golf team opened their season in the Harrison Invitational at Coyote Crossing in West Lafayette on Monday morning.  The Lady Pilgrims finished behind two ranked teams with a respectable 5th place finish 377 out of 12 teams.  Crown Point #8 won the event with a 328, second place went to Cathedral #14 with a 341.

The Pilgrims we’re paced by senior Miranda Dunn who rebounded on the back nine to shoot a 91.  Randi slogged through a very slow pace front going out in 48.  On the back she found her groove playing the final seven holes in +1 (43).
Senior Morgan Oberley finished a mere shot behind Dunn carding a 92.  Morgan set the tone on the front going out in 42.  Her team best 42 helped buoy the spirits of the group.
The high point of the day belonged to Junior Lauren Kolter.  Lauren blitzed her playing partners on the front firing a career best 44.  Lauren’s 94 was her career best round!  Most impressive was her ability to hit all par 3’s from the tee today on her way to 9 of 18 greens.
Senior Katie McDonald 100 and Sophomore Ally Dolan 116 both improved significantly on the much tougher, tighter, and hazard laden back nine improving multiple shots.
Today was a building block to our season, a solid start against solid competition on a top notch golf course.  The Varsity and JV ladies are back in action Tuesday morning 9am at Plymouth Country Club where they host 13 other schools in the 15th annual Plymouth Invitational.
