HaleyHarrell_signingPlymouth High School senior Haley Harrell will be signing a letter-of-intent to continue her education and athletic career at Taylor University.  She plans on playing volleyball for Taylor. 

Haley has been a three sport athlete for the Pilgrims.  She played volleyball, basketball, and tennis.

 

Taylor University is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  During the 2014 season, Taylor finished 26-13 in the regular season and 13-5 in the Crossroads League Conference.  They finished runner-up to Indiana Wesleyan in the conference tourney.

 

Other members of the Crossroads League include Bethel College, Grace College, Goshen College, Huntington University, Indiana Wesleyan University, Marian University, Mt. Vernon Nazarene University (OH), Spring Arbor University (MI), and the University of St. Francis.

 

While a student at PHS, Haley has earned a GPA of 4.305 and is currently ranked 5th in her class of 279.  Haley has won numerous academic and athletic awards while at PHS.

 

One of the most prestigious awards she has won is the Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship as part of being an IHSAA member school.  She is the first Plymouth High School athlete to win this award.  She will receive her award tomorrow night at the Indiana Roof Ballroom located in downtown Indianapolis as part of the Brady Sports Achievement Awards.  Haley, along with twelve other Indiana High School seniors will receive this scholarship award.
