MugShot_VANESSA MCCRACKENOn Thursday October 15, at approximately 2:30 in the morning an officer with the Marshall County Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a 2000 Dodge Neon for an equipment violation on US 30 in the area of King Road.  The vehicle fled eastbound on US 30 reaching speeds near 120 mph.  It then crashed through a fence on US 30 near Cedar Road, continued through a field and landed in a water filled ditch.

Officers located the vehicle and with the assistance of K9s located the driver, 19 year old Vanessa McCracken of Columbia City lying in another ditch.  McCracken was transported to Plymouth Hospital for evaluation.  Upon her released from the hospital she was lodged in the Marshall County jail for Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle, False Informing, Aggressive Driving, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  Her bond was set at $1,500.

The Marshall County Police Department was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Bourbon Police, Bremen Police, and K9’s with Winona Lake Police Department, and Warsaw Police.
