Indiana conservation officers are investigating following a snowmobile accident on Bass Lake this weekend.
42-year-old Krzysztof Borzecki from Summit, Illinois was driving a snowmobile when he flipped it on the ice.
He was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital in Knox and was released after receiving treatment for a fractured cheek bone and minor neck injury.
Borzecki was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and alcohol may have been a contributing factor. Also, his snowmobile was not registered.
Indiana conservation officers are using this as a reminder to always wear a helmet when operating any off-road vehicle and to make sure to register them at your local BMV.
