Tax-AmnestyTax Amnesty 2015 is a limited-time opportunity for individual and business taxpayers to pay past due taxes free of penalty, interest and collection fees.  Existing tax liabilities for all tax types managed by the Indiana Department of Revenue for periods ending prior to Jan. 1, 2013 are eligible for Tax Amnesty 2015. Taxpayers who participated in Indiana’s 2005 amnesty program are not eligible to participate in Tax Amnesty 2015.

To participate in the program, eligible taxpayers must pay in full or establish a payment plan by Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST.  To pay in full or establish a payment plan, taxpayers should go to www.taxamnesty.in.gov, call 1-844-TAXES-IN (1-844-829-3746) or visit any of the department’s 12 district offices.

“Our goal is to help eligible taxpayers catch up on past-due taxes and move forward in good standing with the department,” said Indiana Department of Revenue Commissioner Andrew Kossack. “There’s still time to participate in Tax Amnesty 2015, and I encourage eligible taxpayers to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity before the Nov. 16, 2015 end date.”

Of the past-due taxes collected, the first $84 million will fund the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative. Up to the next $6 million will be allocated to the Indiana Department of Transportation to support operation of the Hoosier State Passenger Rail. Additional taxes collected will be deposited into the state general fund.

Tax Amnesty 2015 collection efforts are on track to meet program goals, and the department has collected more than $68.4 million in cash payments as of Nov. 9, 2015.

Additional program details, including extended phone and walk-in hours, are available at www.taxamnesty.in.gov.

Tax Amnesty 2015 is authorized by the biennial budget in House Enrolled Act 1001, which was signed into law by Governor Mike Pence in May 2015.
