Josh WalkerThe Plymouth City Democrats continue to fill the ballot for the next municipal election.

Friday morning, just two hours before the filing period closes, Josh Walker declared his intentions to run for one of the At-Large seats on the Plymouth City Council on the democratic ballot.

Josh and his wife Amy moved back to Plymouth about a year ago. Amy is a graduate of Plymouth and Josh graduated from John Glenn.  Currently he is in the process of starting Black Sail Brewing Company in Plymouth with his brother-in-law Mick Carlson.  He said, “In the mean time I’ve been trying to do things to help downtown get a little more energetic.”

A freelance audio engineer, producer who likes to do things creatively, he also enjoys entrepreneurship.  When asked why he is running for a city seat he said, “I enjoy taking creativity and innovation and putting them together to make things happen.”

Walker was in the U.S. Army for three years and the reserves for a couple years.  He said, “When I was in the Army I learned from my superiors, don’t complain unless you have a solution.” He continued, “I don’t like to complain about things unless I have something to offer to improve it.”

Josh Walker will be joined by former Plymouth Mayor Gary Cook and local attorney Jeff Houin to fill the democratic ballot for the three at-large seats on the city council.
