FIre Department buildingPlymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller presented the July Activity report last week to the Board of Public Works and Safety.

There were a total of 197 alarm situations for both fire and EMS.  154 calls were EMS incidents, 16 medical assists and 1 extrication.  Fire calls included 2 for chemical release, 4 electrical wiring, 1 vehicle fire, 1 call for smoke and 1 call for a special outside fire, and 2 unintentional system operations.

Fire responders also were dispatched 3 times for public service assistance, 4 false alarms and 9 times dispatched and cancelled en route.

There were a total of 139 hours of training in July including the use of the survival box, and public education.

Looking at the various alarm situations by district there were 138 in Plymouth, 26 in West Township, 23 in Center Township 1 in Culver and 1 in Argos.  Paramedic assists included 2 each in Argos, Walkerton and for Starke County,  and 1 each in LaPaz and Culver.
