The Chargers came back within two, trailing 9-7 after scoring four in the bottom of the fifth, but that is all they would score in the game. “We played one of the toughest schedules we have ever played on a spring trip and came away with a 5-5 record on the trip,” said Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “This is definitely a disappointing way to end the trip, but we have a long season ahead of us. We have to focus on the positives. We had two sweeps in both of the double headers that we played in and went 3-5 against NJCAA Division I competition.”
Ancilla (6-5) returns home to begin their Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference schedule onThursday, March 26 at Lake Michigan College. They have their first home games in conference on Friday and Saturday, starting at 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively.
