PLYMOUTH, IN – The Lady Chargers lost to Prairie State 17-25, 22-25, 27-25, 23-25 and College of DuPage 25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 21-25 over the weekend, dropping their record to 9-14.

Sophia Smith had 20 kills in the two matches and led the Charger offense followed by Samantha Albers’ 14 kills. Jackie Friel put in a gutsy performance with 55 assists on offense and 30 digs on defense, leading both statistical categories for Ancilla. Natalee Walters and Maddie Price both had 25 digs on the day, and Price also added three aces. Samantha Brenneman had three block solos and three block assists.

Coach Singleton commented, “I thought both Jackie Friel and Samantha Albers put forth tremendous effort today. Jackie’s defense was even more impressive than her setting. Albers did not have a single hitting error all day and really did a nice job for us. I would also like to mention that Maddie Price played some great defense for us and Bayli Fearnow, coming off the bench, probably had her best showing of the season. I like how we play as a team when she is on the floor.”

The Lady Chargers are on the road Tuesday in a conference match up against Lansing Community College and will return home on Thursday for the Hunger Game at the Lifeplex against Lake Michigan College. Please bring non-perishable food items for free admission into the game and to support the Hunger Game cause.
