TOLEDO, OH – The Charger women’s soccer team was defeated on the road by Owens Community College over the weekend, 5-0.

Owens opened up the game’s scoring with back-to-back goals midway through the first half of the game. Heading into halftime, Owens was able to grab a 3-0 lead over the Chargers. In the second half, despite Ancilla’s efforts, Owens was able to score two more times ending the game with a 5-0 win.

“I was really proud of the team’s performance and efforts today,” said Coach Justin Crew. “The score line did not reflect the whole story.”

Coach Crew praised the efforts of Woodlyn Robuste, Bianca Maxwell, Alyssa Clyde and Kailee Zimmerman, naming them stand out players for the game.

The Chargers will be on the road Saturday as they head to Bay City, MI to face off against Delta College. Game time is scheduled for 1:00p.m. The team will return home on September 30th to take on Lake Michigan College in a conference game scheduled for 4:00p.m.
