The Plymouth girls golf team saw their season come to a close on a positive note Saturday at Noble Hawk in Kendallville.  The girls fired a season best 357, six shots better than their previous, also at Noble Hawk.  In a field of 18 teams today’s 357 placed us 9th.  Coming into the Regional our Sectional score ranked / seeded us 13th.

Seniors Randi Dunn, Morgan Oberley, and Katie McDonald put forth their best effort today!  Randi fired an 80, one shot off her season best.  Morgan fired an 84, her season low!  Katie carded a 101 with her best 9 hole (front nine) of the season.
The highlight of the day belonged to Morgan Oberley who on #11 made a hole-in-one!  Her first ever ace and with a huge gallery of onlookers to witness!  The 9 iron from nearly 100 yards started on a great line, bounced, and tracked itself right into the hole.
Junior Katie Johnson fired a 91, just two shots off her best of the season.  Katie’s play from the tee was excellent setting up many good looks into greens today.  Like Randi, Katie’s previous best round was early in the season at Noble Hawk.  Fellow junior Lauren Kolter carded a 106.  I was impressed by Lauren’s diligence today as she played a tough course for the first time with the added pressure of the Regional stage.
Shoutouts to the following members of the team who made today’s 5:40AM bus to walk alongside in support of their teammates:  Nicole Horvath, Emily Cochern, Jennah Nifong, Mackenzie Winrotte, and Brittany Klotz.  Their encouragement and support was much appreciated.  Plus these girls got to experience the pressure of high level competition.  A few of these girls were at #11 to witness Morgan’s ace.
