Plymouth played Mishawaka in the SB Adams Sectional on Monday. Mishawaka started with 2 singles and then scored 2 leading off in the 1st inning, but Rachel Hilty caught a line drive and got a double play on the mound. Plymouth escaped the inning allowing 2 runs and then battled back on their own. Leading off Ashley Shepperd got a bunt single. She stole second and Zoe Keilman advanced her to 3rd by putting the ball into play. Bailey Brown then hit an RBI single to Center Field for the Pilgrims. In the 2nd inning Mishawaka had an explosion of runs starting with a bases clearing triple from Chrobot to make it 5-1. The game was then delayed because of weather. After the delay Mishawaka tacked on 6 more runs. Zoe Keilman came in to pitch for Plymouth and Mishawaka scored 2 in both the 4th and 5th innings. Plymouth scored their other run when Bailey Brown walked and Plymouth advanced her to 3rd. Mimi Southwell got the RBI single and with 2 outs, Mishawaka loaded the bases with a walk and hit by pitch. Summer Smith ripped a pitch up the middle but the pitcher got her glove up in time to snag the out and stop the Plymouth’s advance.
