Early Sunday morning at 12:45 Officer Matt Geiger with the Bourbon Police Department stopped a car on US 30 and 12B Road for speeding. The vehicle was traveling 93 MPH in a 60 MPH speed zone.
The driver, 20 year old Carson M. Epple of LaPorte had been drinking and failed a field sobriety test and refused a certified chemical test. Mr. Epple was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on a felony charge of operating while intoxicated due to the fact he had a prior OWI within 5 years and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Epple was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
