The Lincoln Wresters pushed their season record to 13-4 on Saturday by finishing 3-2 and capturing 7th place at the Laville Superduals.

In the opening round Lincoln lost a barnburner against eventual champions New Prairie 52-46.  This was a huge improvement from the 30 point loss that they had suffered on January 28th to the Cougars.  In the second round Lincoln defeated Lakeview middle school 114-0.  The 3rd round saw Lincoln fall to Penn feeder Discovery middle school by a score of 56-42.  In the 4th round the young Rockie wrestlers defeated Urey 93-24.  After 4 rounds of wrestling both Wawasee and Lincoln were 2-2 with losses to New Prairie and Discovery in their respective gym.  Wawasee had scored 4 more points then Lincoln in the first 4 rounds of competition, meaning that they would be awarded the rights to wrestle for 5th vs the 3rd place finisher in the other gymnasium, while Lincoln had to settle for competing to claim 7th.

They did, by beating Rochester 96-24 in the final. Lincoln had 4 wrestlers go undefeated on the day and were awarded a golden champions medal by host Laville. These wrestlers included Graham Calhoun at 110lbs, Fernando Rebollo at 125lbs, Kane Young at 125lbs and Kendal Himes at 189lbs.   Lincoln is back in action this week traveling to Triton for a match at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
