Emergency responders from the Plymouth Fire Department were dispatched to a medical call Tuesday afternoon just after 1 near the intersection of State Road 17 and 10B Road.

MedicalCall_SR17&10B_2The initial call came in as a man trapped under a tree trunk with a possible broken leg.

MedicalCall_SR17&10B_3County Police along with Plymouth Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found a man pinned under an approximate 8 inch in diameter tree trunk.

Emergency responders were able to life to log off his lower extremity and prepared him for transport to a South Bend trauma center.

MedicalCall_SR17&10B_5Due to HIPA laws the name of the 59 year old man can’t be released but he was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with injuries though to be non-life threatening.

MedicalCall_SR17&10B_6Plymouth Police Chief Rod Miller said the man was trimming trees from a fence row whe the tree he cut shifted and landed on his leg.
